Here at QVCC we are very fortunate to have an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). It allows us to provide intensive care and monitoring of pets that are critically ill, medical emergencies and those who are recovering from trauma or surgery.
An ICU is a special ward that is designed to look after very sick patient who may require specialised treatment, such as:
Constant Rate Infusions (CRI’s) for pain management
Blood transfusions
Post-operative care
Oxygen therapy
Nutritional care and feeding tubes
Critical care and monitoring.
QVCC offer a range of options to accommodate all types of care, including:
Short term care for pets that may be recovering from trauma or surgery
Complex care for those that may require more regular monitoring
24 hour care for those that require around the clock treatments, support and TLC
Our ICU is fitted out with state of the art monitoring equipment that send out alarms should a patient’s vital signs reach a dangerous level, high-tech surveillance cameras that allow us see and hear everything that is happening with our patients and of course our highly trained staff. Having an ICU allows us to provide our patients with a very high level of care, giving them the very best chance of survival should they become critically ill.
