Dr Veronica Cech
Principal Veterinarian
Veronica was born in Victoria and moved to Central Queensland with her family at the age of 5 and it was here where she grew up surrounded by animals helping at the family’s pet shop. Veronica’s passion for animals grew as the years went on and she made the move to Brisbane to study Veterinary Science and graduated with Honours in 2007.
Thankfully she returned to the wonderful Capricorn coast soon after graduation and has worked as a Veterinarian and volunteer within the local community for 14 years and runs another local small business. Veronica has a special interest in absolutely anything animal related but has always been particularly passionate about animal welfare, education and the overpopulation problem. This led to her research surrounding such issues in 2007 and her involvement in local animal charities and animal welfare cases.
However, her learning did not stop there! They say to never work with animals or children and as she had ticked off working with animals, she thought she better tick off children too, so she gained her Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching in 2016 and can be found from time to time in the local schools completing supply teaching when the help is needed.
When Veronica is not at work you will find her... hang on let’s face it, for now she is always at work! QVCC would not be possible without Veronica and when we can eventually get her out of the clinic she spends her valuable spare time with her 3 little rascal children, a cheeky Cocker Spaniel called Spud, Frog the Horse and Skittles the Eclectus parrot.
