For nervous pets, large dogs, multi-pet households, or owners with limited mobility, a home visit can dramatically reduce stress and provide a calmer, more relaxed consultation environment.
Services Available During a Home Visit
Our veterinarians and nurses are equipped to perform a wide range of services in the comfort of your pet's own surroundings. These visits are typically scheduled during weekday business hours by appointment.

Routine examinations for non-critical conditions.
Vaccinations
Annual boosters and initial puppy/kitten vaccinations.
Preventative Injections
Administration of the yearly heartworm injection and other long-acting preventatives.
Medication Prescriptions
Reviewing and prescribing necessary medications.
End-of-Life Care
Our gentle, compassionate euthanasia service can be performed at home, providing a peaceful final farewell in a familiar place.

- Nail clipping and grooming maintenance.
- Suture removal and wound management checks.

Understanding the Limitations of Home Care
While home visits offer convenience and comfort, we are committed to informing you that there are limited services that can be provided outside of a fully equipped hospital.
- When Hospitalisation is Essential: If your pet is seriously sick, critically injured, or requires extensive diagnostics (such as X-rays, ultrasound, or immediate lab work), coming directly to our Veterinary Hospital is always the safest and fastest option. The hospital provides instant access to life-saving equipment, emergency drugs, and the full surgical team.
- Consultation: We will always make it clear that if your pet requires treatment beyond a simple examination or medication, they will need to be transported to our hospital facility.
Service Area and Travel Fee
We strive to facilitate home visits for most areas along the Central Queensland Coast, including Yeppoon and the surrounding areas.
- Service Area Coverage: We generally service areas surrounding Yeppoon up to a 50km radius. If you are further afield, please call, and we will try to accommodate your needs.
- Travel Fee Concept: Home visits incur an additional travel fee to cover the time and vehicle costs of our team travelling to your location. This fee is approximately $200 (please confirm the exact fee when booking).
PET TAXI SERVICE
SAFE AND STRESS-FREE TRANSPORT
If your pet needs to be seen in the hospital but you are unable to provide transport, whether due to work commitments, lack of an appropriate vehicle, or mobility issues, our Pet Taxi service is the perfect solution.
How the Pet Taxi Works
The Pet Taxi ensures your pet arrives safely and calmly at QVCC for their scheduled procedure or treatment.
Collection
We arrange a time to collect your pet from your home.
Hospital Care
Your pet is safely transported back to the hospital for their scheduled procedure (e.g., surgery, advanced dental work, or a lengthy diagnostic workup).
Return
Once their procedure is complete and they are ready for discharge, the Pet Taxi will safely return your pet and their belongings to your home.
