We host regular visits from highly skilled specialists who conduct consultations, perform complex procedures, and provide advanced diagnostic interpretations:

Orthopaedic Surgeons

Specialists in complex bone and joint surgeries, including fracture repair, ligament reconstruction, and correction of congenital defects.

Specialist Soft Tissue Surgeons

Internal Medicine Specialists

Frequency and Booking

Specialist visits are demand-driven, ensuring efficiency and availability for clients across Central Queensland.

Cadence: Specialists typically visit QVCC on a regular schedule, generally every two to three months, depending on the number of patients needing appointments and procedures.
Booking: We manage the booking process centrally. If a complex case requires specialist input, our in-house team will coordinate all necessary diagnostics and schedule the consultation for the next available specialist visit.

ACCESS AND REFERRALS: OPEN TO EVERYONE

You do not need to be an existing QVCC client to benefit from this service.

Referrals Welcome: We happily accept referrals for specialist appointments from other veterinary clinics across the region. If your regular vet identifies a case that requires tertiary expertise, they can refer you directly to QVCC for a specialist consultation.

In-House Coordination: Our dedicated team coordinates all the logistics, including initial diagnostics (X-ray, Ultrasound), securing advanced imaging (CT/MRI if required), and preparing the case for the specialist’s review.

On-Site Convenience: The presence of our on-site team residence allows the specialists to stay overnight, making multi-day surgeries and procedure scheduling significantly more convenient for them and for you.
